August Color Combo Blog Hop

Welcome to the August Color Combo Blog Hop. If you have been following the hop, then you should have arrived from Sugar and Scrap.

Here is the August Color Combination from Design Seeds:

Now I have a confession... I did not make a new project for this month. Instead, I thought more about the process of using a color combination.

For some reason, this color combination makes me think about fall. It certainly does not feel like fall is coming to South Texas anytime soon! Maybe I will be more inspired to use these colors more when the it cools down here.

I also find it difficult to use the color orange. I do not use it often, but I did find a couple of past layouts using orange.

I mostly associate orange with Halloween and Fall. I am having a hard time breaking away from that, and I want to buy this stamp set mainly to color the pumpkin orange: http://www.lawnfawn.com/products/harvest-season. This is a good pumpkin stamp too: http://www.simonsaysstamp.com/servlet/the-26567/2010-Hero-Arts-Rubber/Detail. I may have to work a pumpkin stamp into my fall crafting budget.

I do have some supplies on hand that will work with this color combination. I have a mix of the card stock and some copic markers and colored pencils. Orange with a hint of yellow would work well when coloring some flowers.

This is as far as I got for now. When I have some more free time, I hope to make a project with this color combination. For now, I would love to hear about how you decide to use different color combinations in your paper crafts. Please leave me a comment and continue on the hop. The next stop is Sue Althouse.

Interesting commentary on the color combo. I think it's interesting how some look at the colors and see Halloween. When you say that I see it. I think I tend to look at the pictures more to inspire me and really saw the combo as summery.

Cute layouts! I wanted a combo that was different this month and I guess I achieved that lol....July was very "July" so when I saw this color combo I thought it was more out of the box. Thanks so much for participating!!

Cute pages - I seem to have much more orange paper than I could ever use - we're not big on Halloween here, so I don't even buy it for that.

You are not the only one who mentioned thinking of fall and Halloween when seeing this combo. That thought never came to mind for me. It's strange how we all see things differently. I saw it as being summery and fresh looking. I have been wanting to add orange to my layouts lately for some reason. Thanks for sharing your layouts, and the card you created in the post above is stunning. Love it!

Great post! I love how you shared layouts with the colors that you already had completed. That's a really good idea.
