Cribs

On Thursday Alex pulled himself up in his crib at daycare for the first time while I was talking to his teacher. Yesterday he started pulling himself up in his crib at home. This morning Alex slept in until 7:40 A.M. (thank you!) and woke up happy. I walked into his room and he pulled himself up in his crib to greet me. I can't believe how big he is getting!

Here are some more zoo pictures. I like the ones of mama and baby monkeys together.

First Trip to the Zoo

Alex took his first trip to the zoo on Monday (January 18th). I have been impressed with the San Antonio Zoo, and I am sure that we will make more trips there in the future. We were there for about two hours and saw monkeys, kangaroos, a really large rodent, and birds, and visited the "Tiny Tots Nature Spot." We met up with Kat and Toby, who makes a good zoo guide. We want to go back after they open more of the Africa Live section.

Sick?!

I took Alex to the doctor on Tuesday morning and found out that he had RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) and a bilateral ear infection. He stayed home for the rest of the week, but at times you would not have known that he was sick. He did a lot of crawling, pulling himself up, and playing. He is a trooper and has done well with his antibiotic (which smells like pina colada) and his breathing treatments.

Alex is pictured standing with his music table and playing with his toys on January 20, 2010.

After Christmas Craft Project

I made some NOEL blocks for us.
I used Decor Elements wooden blocks, Decor Elements (the letters), Shimmer Paint, and Felt Flurries from Stampin' Up!.
I also used red craft paint and some foam snow flakes from Michael's.

Rainy Friday Morning

On a rainy Friday morning, John and I decided to carpool to work. Usually, he drops off Alex at daycare, and it seems that it would be easier with two parents instead of just one. When we arrived at the Child Development Center, John grabbed the umbrella, and I got Alex out of his car seat. I couldn't find Alex's school bag. Here is how the conversation went:
Sara: "John, were's Alex's bag?"
John: "I thought you had it."
Sara: "I thought you had it."
The bag was sitting on the kitchen table. Luckily, they have extra clothes and bottles at daycare.

Three on Thursday

1. Alex finally showed off his new skill (pulling up) to his parents today! I saw it this morning when I dropped off at daycare, and then he showed John tonight. He is using the musical play tables at daycare and home to pull himself up. We have a Fisher Price one at home, and I LOVE this toy right now.

2. Alex is now 21 and 1/2 pounds.

3. He is 30 and 1/4 inches tall!

Pulling Himself Up

Yesterday, Alex started pulling himself up at daycare. He is soooo tired when we get home that he has not showed us this new skill yet. He has fallen asleep in the car on the way home the last two days.

These don't belong here...

Guess which parent put the pajama pants on the baby's head?!

New Pictures

Today we took Alex's 10 month photo with Shrek. We also tried to get some photos of him in his first rock t-shirt (The Beatles). It was a Christmas gift from Uncle Shrek, and he will have to grow into it. He was getting wiggly by this time, so we got a picture of some "baby attitude" and his teeth.

Peanut Butter

John has been doing the grocery shopping for a while now, which is great. It is interesting to see the different things that we buy. For example, we now have a 4 pound jar of peanut butter.

Not the World's Most Obedient Dogs...

We do not have the most obedient dogs, but I have figured out how to lure them back in the house. Frida responds to treats, but that does not work on Paddy. She responds to her leash. They are an interesting pair!

Last Post of 2009

Jenni is visiting and we walked up to the look out tower at Eisenhower Park. We wore out Alex, and he fell asleep while having a bottle.
