Project Life App

Happy Holidays! We are enjoying the holiday season around here. I am documenting our fall and holidays with the Project Life App on my iPhone.

Dudley Dog from Alex's kindergarten class spent a few days at our house. Alex shared their adventures in a class journal.

Our November included bike rides, a craft fair, and lots of reading. I really enjoyed the fall colors!

Alex's school takes the week off at Thanksgiving, and we all enjoyed a break with lots of family time. We cooked a great meal for Thanksgiving. Before the rainy days began, we got in another family bike ride.

We had a fun afternoon at Christmas in the Park with our friends.

We cannot keep all of Alex's artwork from kindergarten, so I enjoy making pages to remember the items he brings home. We recently made gingerbread cookies for Alex's class to decorate as part of their holiday celebrations.

I am looking forward to easily documenting Christmas this year with my phone and this app. I printed a few 12x12 pages exported from the app and am happy with the results. Photo books are another great option with these pages.

Gratitude Card

Welcome to the November Fun 'n Crafty Blog Hop! I am still loving the For All Things stamp set, and this month's theme for the blog hop is gratitude. Today I have a card to share with you.

I also plan to use this set to decorate some little journals and treat bags, but right now one of Alex's kindergarten projects has taken over my craft desk. Make sure that you check out the rest of the blog hop for more wonderful ideas! Your next stop is Stinky Tofu.

Halloween Fun

We've had a fun Halloween! Last weekend we carved our pumpkins with some of John's work friends.

Then we went to a Halloween party hosted by one of my crafty friends.

Today Alex was able to wear a simple costume to school for the day. It was a rainy afternoon, so I helped his class with inside activities. They decorated a cookie and made some halloween crafts after lunch. I am so glad that I have the time to help at Alex's school!

We all went trick-or-treating around the neighborhood tonight, including Paddy. We had a great time, especially Alex.
(The bowl went missing, so next time we will use an extra box!)

For All Things

I love the color combination from The Paper Players challenge and the For All Things stamp set.

I used these colors plus Whisper White and Chocolate Chip as my neutrals. First I made my own pattern paper by stamping the leaves. I used a watercolor brush directly on the rubber stamp and on the paper to vary the colors.

Here is my finished card:

At first glance, Mossy Meadow was not my favorite from the 2014-2016 In Color collection, but I like it more and more as I use it. It is great for fall and holiday cards!

Simplicity Links

I have not blogged about simplicity or minimalism lately, so I thought that it was time to share some links. Blogs, podcasts, and even a Facebook group helps me stay focused on simplifying our lives.

I am working through a career transition and Tammy Strobel's answer to my recent question gave me some helpful perspective. You can read her post about rethinking work on Rowdy Kittens.

I enjoyed reading Courtney Carver's discussion on the difference between simplicity and minimalism at Be More with Less.

I am happy to hear that one of my favorite podcasts about simple living will continue to have new episodes. I can relate to so many episodes of Simple Life Together.

I am working to cut back on some memorabilia and get our printed photos into a Project Life album. I've had all of the supplies for a while now, so it is time to use them! I love that I can move around the pages in my scrapbooks. I started with some photos of a trip to visit family in 2010.
