Teacher Cards

 I am working on cards for teachers. School has started in our new city, and the "thank you for your dedication" sentiment seems so fitting for this time. Teachers are putting in extra effort to make online, hybrid, or in person learning work for kids. 

I found the inspiration for my card design from the Happy Stampin' blog. This design is flexible to use with different sentiments, papers, and themes.

Beach Card

 I tried a beach card for the Make My Monday challenge blog even though I don't have any beach theme stamps. I used the castle from the Lawn Fawn Critters Ever After set and two of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors: Crumb Cake and Pool Party. It turned out to be a simple card, but it was fun to experiment with a few options from my supply stash.

New Craft Space and Card

A priority in our new house was for John to have an office, and I was hoping for a craft space. The upstairs ouf our Cape Cod gives us both! I finished setting up my craft space over the weekend, so now I can get back to making cards. I know that the space will evolve, and I am still having trouble remembering the location of some items. (Where are you glimmer brushes?!) I tried to keep some items away from curious hands, but so far I am sharing some markers and punches with CJ. I am interested in adding some peg boards above the desks.

I have some birthday cards to make for August. I colored and cut a bunch of butterflies months ago, so it was fun to pair them with some pattern paper that made the cut for our move. The butterfly stamp has also survived multiple craft supply purges and moves and remained one of my favorite stamps to color. The card came together when I saw this sketch from CAS(E) this sketch #384: 

June Blog Hop

Welcome to the June Fun n' Crafty Stampers Blog Hop! We are sharing some NEW Stampin' Up! products with some of our returning favorites. I have two cards to share today.

First up, I have a picture of the newest Stampin' Up! catalog, which is my favorite in my 6+ years as a customer and now demonstrator with this company. From stamps to inks to kits to Project Life, there is a variety of wonderful crafting products and ideas in these pages.

Stampin' Up! is known for color coordination, and it is fun to see the new set of "in colors" each year. I adore these new colors and played with my Stampin' Write Markers recently to make this sign.

This first card I made features a new stamp set (Build a Birthday) and new washi tape (Cherry on Top).

The Build a Birthday stamp set is a lot of fun to use, especially with washi tape. This card came together quickly and I like mixing the Watermelon Wonder and Pool Party card stock.

For the second card, I used some of my favorite returning stamps.

I was really excited to see the Watercolor Thank You continue into the next annual catalog, and I recently added Flowering Flourishes to my collection. I also used some of the new Watermelon Wonder card stock and Cherry on Top washi tape.

Quick Cards

It is a busy fall around here, but I have made a couple of quick cards recently with one of my (new) favorite stamp sets, Oh Hello (clear-mount and wood-mount links).

Coffee Filter Flower

The May/June issue of Paper Crafts magazine showcases cards using supplies from your kitchen. It inspired my to make a flower using coffee filters.



First I punches out some scallop circles and one inch circles. Then I generously misted them with the Color Shine spray. I gave then lots of time to dry before I layered them into a flower with a brad.



I used an OWH sketch to assemble a simple card with some of my favorite paper and ribbon. This is part of my "homework" for my June Stamp Club.

Pink

For the current CAS-ual Fridays' challenge, I had fun using my new washi tape and choosing just the right shade of pink card stock. (It is a retired color from Stampin' Up!) I do not own a pink ink pad, and my markers were not the right match. I turned to my trusty Versa Mark ink pad for some tone-on-tone pink. It was one of my first stamping purchases, and I have been using this ink pad for almost four years. The zig-zag stamp is from Hero Arts and the sentiment stamp is from Papertrey Ink.



If you have any suggestions on pink ink pads, please share them in the comments. It would be a good addition to my craft stash. Thanks to my husband, son, parents, and brother, I received fun craft supplies for my birthday. Yay!

This flat card will be a good addition to my Heroes Card Drive donation.

Adding Some Bling

For the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #55 I needed to add some bling but still keep my card clean and simple. I have been playing with my (new to me) Perfect Peals, which add a nice sheen and sparkle. I water colored the stamped flowers with Distress Markers and then added the Perfect Pearls spray after they were dry and cut out.

These videos were brought to you by the current CAS-ual Fridays Challenge #46: Name That Tune. The challenge is to create a clean and simple card based on a song. I think that these songs have been stuck in my head on and off since 1992. (Edited: Was that really 20 years ago?!)

For my card, I continued to try out my Lawn Fawn Critters in the Burbs stamp set. I had fun stamping the frogs and coloring them with some Copic Markers, which also make the card fit into Lawnscaping Challenge #31: Coloring. When I first started stamping I was not sure that I would like coloring on my cards. Copics and colored pencils are just as much fun as a new box of crayons.
