Softball

I get some time to scrapbook/stamp, and John gets some time to play softball. John's co-worker, Jamie, took some good pictures of John at their game on Friday night. Once Alex gets older, he can go watch his Daddy play softball.

Birthday Card

When you copy an idea from someone in scrapbooking, it is called "scraplifting". When you copy an idea from someone in stamping, is it called "stamplifting"? I made this card to send to a friend for her birthday. (Happy Birthday Wendy!) It is probably still in the mail. I used a card made by my Stamp Club leader, Tiffany, as inspiration for this card. (Click here to view her card.) It was nice to get to scrap and stamp last Sunday with Kat and Sharis. Alex keeps us busy, but John and I are making a little time for our hobbies.

When Bears Attack

John took this picture last night because it looks like Alex's teddy bear is trying to attack.

Actually, Alex really likes his swing and "womb" bear. The bear can be attached by velcro and makes the sounds that babies hear in the womb. These items really help him sleep.

Tuesday Updates

My parents headed back to Ohio today. Alex had a good visit with his grandparents. He spent early mornings with my Dad, so that I could get some more sleep. They talked sports and politics. Alex watched his first baseball and basketball games with his Grandpa. My mom made sure that he did not spend much time in his pack n' play. She also made sure that we all ate well.

It was very helpful to have them here. John went back to work a little over a week ago, so today was my first day alone with Alex. We did well and got out of the house for his first walk around the neighborhood.

Finally, on a random note, I am posting a photo from our hail storm this morning. The meteorologist on the local news said that we would only get mist this morning. A little while later we got a thunderstorm with hail. Go figure. You can see the hail collected on the windshield of the cars.

So True

I saw this on Baby Center today and have had this same thought. I used to go for 8 hours of sleep at night. Now I am happy to get a stretch of 3-4 hours and maybe a nap.

4 weeks old

Alex is 4 weeks old today!

Kat and Sharis came over yesterday to scrapbook and stamp. Kat is pictured holding Alex, since her toddler is now too busy exploring the world to be held. I am enjoying this time while Alex likes to be held.

Going by fast

It already feels like things are going by fast with Alex. When he is awake, he is more alert. He opens his blue/gray eyes wider now. He likes to move around, especially his arms and legs. If he really tries, he can roll onto his side. He is far from rolling over, but this is a start.

Here is a picture from when he is 2 days old. At over 3 weeks old, he already looks older and has filled out some. We don't swaddle him much anymore because his wiggles his way out of the blanket.
